ABCs of: Coeliac Disease – Understanding The Facts Behind
Occurring in up to 1% of the general population, Coeliac disease is a systemic autoimmune disease in response to gluten peptides found in wheat, rye, barley and other grains. 1 Immune activation in the small intestine eventually leads to malabsorption while systemic features are varied.
