Fathimath Zaha Ikram
Director of Education
Hi everyone! I’m currently in Year 5 and performing my role as the Director of Education in the SIGMUM committee. I joined SIGMUM because I’ve been keen on surgery ever since I started studying medicine. I’ve attended most events held by SIGMUM and they inspired me to be more involved and join the committee. Outside of medicine, I enjoy going to gym, playing sports including badminton and hanging out with friends.
James Koay

Hi! I’m James, a Year 5 student, and content producer (editor) for SIGMUM! I have long had an interest in surgery and surgical topics, and as part of SIGMUM, I hope to be able to bring interesting and informative material that will both entertain and educate our audience. Outside of medicine, I enjoy reading, including fiction as well as historical and scientific non-fiction, and also take pleasure in video games.
Dillon Arnand Kanagalingam
Director of Research
Hi everyone, my name is Dillon Arnand, a Year 4 medical student and the current Research Director for SIGMUM 2021. I joined SIGMUM to work alongside and learn from its team of capable individuals, and to sate my personal interest in surgery which stems from my experience as a patient who had undergone surgery and seeing first-hand what being a surgeon will entail. My other interest outside of medicine consist of cooking, reading, swimming & martial arts.
