The Surgical Interest Group of Monash University Malaysia (SIGMUM) is excited to host a webinar under the Fundamentals of Surgery series and we want to welcome you to be a part of it! Our Fundamentals of Surgery series aims to address the core components of surgery and equip surgeons and surgeons-to-be to enter the OT.
In this 1.5 hour webinar by distinguished speaker Dr Razak, expect an overview of the surgical emergencies that are frequently encountered by junior doctors to help yourself grasp an idea on what to expect during your intern years. This webinar is open to all levels of professionals working in healthcare, from medical students to medical officers.

About our speaker
Dr Ab Razak Samsudin
Dr Razak is currently a clinical Associate Professor of Monash University, Clinical School Johor Bahru. He is also a Consultant General Surgeon at KPJ Puteri Specialist Hospital. Dr Razak graduated from University of Mansoura, Egypt in January 1984. He pursued his internship in Melaka Hospital and later completed his surgical training in General Hospital, Kuala Lumpur.
Dr Razak spent years in Ireland to further his surgical training and obtain his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1991 (FRCS). Not to mention, he completed a one year fellowship in Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Surgery in Royal Free Hospital London in years 2005-2006.
Dr Razak joined Monash University Clinical School Johor Bahru in the year 2007 and is one of the pioneers in the faculty. His service to the school is currently surpassing 18 years.
Dr Razak is also a member of the Conjoint Board in General Surgery which is a national body responsible for specialist training in General Surgery in Malaysia. Furthermore, Dr Razak is also an examiner for the Masters programme in General Surgery Examination in Malaysia.
